My Journey To Christ
A Search for Meaning:​
"As COVID-19 isolation set in, I found solace in daily walks along Wisconsin Avenue to Lake Michigan. With earbuds in and phone in pocket, a serendipitous discovery through YouTube's algorithm led me to a modern adaptation of 'The Hound of Heaven' and its companion song. As I played it on repeat, this contemporary take on Francis Thompson's poem illuminated a profound truth: God's relentless pursuit of each person through Jesus Christ. These moments of reflection, set against the backdrop of nature's beauty, became the catalyst for my spiritual awakening."
Exploring Faith:​
"Curious about reconciling my Jewish identity with Jesus, I immersed myself in Dr. Michael Brown's 'Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus.' This exploration sparked a desire to delve deeper into my spiritual journey."
Volunteering and Mentoring:​
"Driven by a growing spiritual hunger, I dedicated seven months to volunteering six days a week at a local food bank. This experience not only nourished my soul but also led me to Erin, who became my spiritual mentor and guide. Erin suggested I watch the first two seasons of 'The Chosen', which opened my eyes to the Jewish roots of Christianity."
Deepening Understanding:​
"Watching The Chosen was transformative, as it revealed that all of Jesus' apostles were Jewish—just like me. This realization sparked a daily, in-depth study of the Gospels and the New Testament with Erin. Together, we moved chapter by chapter through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, concluding with Revelation. Through emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings, we engaged in deep discussions, uncovering the profound truths of the Gospels."
Baptism and Commitment:​​
"On September 10, 2023, surrounded by the vast waters of Lake Michigan, I took the plunge—both literally and spiritually. My baptism marked a public declaration of my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, solidifying my commitment to a life guided by His teachings."
